Today’s culture is completely “high tech and low touch.” It celebrates and promotes individualism over community. Privacy and seclusion are valued over connection. However, God didn’t design us to live our lives alone. He created us for relationship with Him and with others. We were made to belong and to be part of a community—a group of people living life together. At RLC, we believe the best environment for lasting life change takes place within community. That’s why we offer Life Groups.
Life Groups
A Life Group is a small group of people who share something in common along with a desire to learn and grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ. Through a shared interest, a hobby, a common purpose, or stage of life, Life Groups are formed to provide a place where YOU can belong, and grow with a group of friends. We offer many different types of Life Groups that meet throughout the week, at different times of the day, all over Southwest Michigan! Life Groups can be gathering together for a cup of coffee, playing sports, doing a Bible study, serving the community and more. Our Life Group semesters generally begin in September, February and June and last anywhere from 6 -12 weeks.
Life Community Groups
To further develop our Life Group Ministry, we will be launching a new type of group called Life Community Groups. Life Community Groups center on people – pure and simple. Life Community Groups provide people with intimate family environments where ministry flows from relational connections. Through Life Community Groups, individuals regularly gather outside of our weekend church services in small group environments and engage in a lifestyle of authentic community and spiritual growth. Life Community Groups run for a full year or through the school year.
As Christians, we are to help people live life together, grow together and serve God together. True life change doesn’t take place in isolation; it takes place in the context of authentic, life-giving relationships and meaningful heart connections. Maybe you connect because you have preschoolers, live in the same neighborhood, or have similar life experiences. Or maybe you connect because you’re passionate about prayer, community service, scrapbooking, or Bible Study. However you connect, we encourage you to take it one step further by joining a Life Group or Life Community Group.
For a complete listing of our Life Groups or to search for a Life Group, click on the appropriate link to the left. We encourage you to take a few minutes to find a Life Group that fits you. As you do, you may want to think about your own interests, the needs you have in your life right now, or even the goals you have set for yourself. You may register for a Life Group at the Information Center in the Main Concourse or by calling the Life Group Leader.
If you don't see a Life Group for you, then apply to start one! Life Group Leadership Orientation is offered regularly making it simple and fun to apply and get involved.
